Media Advisory
24 November 2008, Montreal - The next day of hearings in Adil Charkaoui's case will be FRIDAY, 28 November, starting at 9:30am. (That is, there will be NO court tomorrow (Tuesday), Wednesday, and Thursday as previously announced, but there WILL be court on Friday.) The hearings will take place at 30 McGill St., Metro Square Victoria, Montreal.
The Charkaouis have been struggling for _very_ basic rights for five years and nine months - against racial profiling, secret trials, torture, arbitrary detention - in what feels like a treadmill of injustice. The endless court proceedings completely banalize the injustices, humiliations, threat of violence and intrusive state control Mr. Charkaoui and the rest of his family are subject to on a daily basis.

Advisory: Supreme Court to rule on destruction of evidence and bias in Charkaoui file
PRESS CONFERENCE
Thursday, 26 June at 11:30am
800 de Maisonneuve East, 9th floor, Montreal
In January 2008, the Supreme Court was asked to decide whether the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) had carried out its investigation in the Charkaoui case in a biased manner. This followed the spy agency's own admission that they had not only destroyed records of interviews with Charkaoui himself, but had systematically destroyed all interview records in his file, as a matter of policy. ... The Supreme Court will render its decision on Thursday, 26 June at 9:45am. Mr. Charkaoui, his lawyer Me. Dominique Larochelle, and several of the intervenors will respond at 11:30am.
